Who Are We
Coastal Harvest is deeply committed to serving the community of Seine Bight, Belize, through a ministry that is both responsive and intentional. We prioritize listening to the community and its leaders, allowing us to understand their current needs before prayerfully considering how we can meet those needs while sharing the love of Christ. Every mission trip and action we take is specifically tailored to the unique gifts of the team serving, the immediate needs of the community, and the guidance of the Lord.
Our ministry activities have included hosting Vacation Bible School (VBS), where we build meaningful relationships with local children while sharing the message of Christ. We've also organized a soccer clinic that encourages physical activity, fosters community, and allows us to engage with people in a fun and meaningful way. Partnering with the local school, we've provided much-needed supplies to support education, and we've assisted other organizations in gathering clothing donations for a community-wide clothing drive.
However, these efforts are just the beginning. We remain committed to trusting the Lord to guide our actions as we continue to serve and uplift the community of Seine Bight. Our mission is to be a light in the community, responding to needs as they arise, and always moving forward with a heart full of compassion and a focus on sharing the love of Christ.
He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Luke 10:2
Our History
In 2016, my wife and I bought a home in Placencia, Belize as a vacation spot. Over time, this place became more than just a retreat; it became our 'home away from home.' We fell in love with Belize, its culture, and most importantly, the communities on the Placencia peninsula—a beautiful 16-mile stretch of land in the southern part of the country. One community, Seine Bight, spoke deeply to our hearts. As we met the residents, they were friendly people – but clearly the “impoverished” in the area. Go two miles north or south of Seine Bight, you will find million dollar homes…but in Seine Bight, most still live without basic utilities and even some without running water…and high unemployment.
Seine Bight is an island of poverty in one of the most prosperous areas of the country; but with good people with good hearts…and smiles all day long.
In our desire to help this community, the Lord led us to start Coastal Harvest, a non-profit organization rooted in faith, to benefit the residents and community of Seine Bight. In 2024, we hosted our first mission team of 35 people. We know this is only the beginning of what God has in store for us and for Seine Bight.
